DESCRIPTION:Entre la découverte des surprenantes capacités des bonobos — qui dénouent les conflits en copulant — et la lumière jetée sur la souffrance des bêtes d’élevage\, notre perception des animaux s’est\, depuis quelques années\, modifiée. Et la question animale a pris une importance inattendue. \nSouvent vifs\, les débats qui en naissent ne sauraient être réduits à leur caricature : les méchants carnivores arrogants contre les doux végétariens empathiques\, ou\, à l’inverse\, le bon sens des mangeurs de viande contre le sectarisme des croqueurs de carottes. Le questionnement qui en découle est en réalité d’importance : quelle est la part animale de l’homme ? Quelle est la meilleure façon de coexi \nster ? Doit-on quelque chose aux autres créatures vivantes ? Il reste enfin à savoir si cet accueil de l’altérité\, nourri d’émotion\, peut contribuer au progrès social. \nLors de l’épreuve de français du baccalauréat 2018\, les candidats étaient invités à défendre la nécessité d’une Déclaration des droits des animaux. Après avoir pénétré les facultés de droit et les tribunaux (lire « “Homo sapiens” n’a plus le monopole des droits »)\,la question animale s’est ainsi introduite dans les lycées. Les humains ont toujours entretenu des relations ambiguës avec les bêtes\, comme l’illustrent les procès de porcs au Moyen Âge (lire « Cochons\, taureaux\, mulots\, à la barre ! ») ou la fascination pour le chat\, tour à tour sacralisé et diabolisé (lire « De Baudelaire à YouTube\, le sourire du chat »). Unanimement admise pendant des siècles\, la supériorité humaine sur les autres créatures se trouve aujourd’hui remise en cause (lire « Retour au jardin d’Éden »)\, et le refus de tuer pour se nourrir gagne du terrain. SUMMARY:Animal Rights March
DESCRIPTION:On the 25th of August\, Animal Dignity is organizing the Official Animal Rights March Luxembourg in Luxembourg City. On the fourth Saturday of August\, we will march for the billions of animals that die and suffer each day at the hands of humans.\nWe are meeting at 14h00 at the ´Kanounenhiwwel´ (6 Plateau du Saint-Esprit\, 1475 Luxemburg). After a short briefing\, we will march trough the city to our final destination\, the Knuedler\, where we will arrive around 16h30-17h00. There\, we will have a speech by Fabienne Origer\, founder of the International Animal Rights Conference and Save Animals asbl\, after which we will hold a commemoration ceremony for all the animals who are slaughtered by the millions each day. We will lay down flowers and candles and have a minute of silence.\nBefore the march officially starts\, we are organizing a make-your-own-signs-picnic event as of 12h00 at the Rottendes. We will meet before the march to picnic and make signs together\, get to know each other and make a lot of creative signs. We will bring some blank signs\, markers\, color etc. but it would be great if you could bring some as well. As for the food\, everybody should bring their own. \nWhat you should bring: \n-Signs: The slogans on them should be peaceful and informative. We do not want to directly attack or harass people.\n-Whistles: So we can make a lot of noise and draw attention to ourselves\n-A flower or candle: It would be great if everybody could bring a flower or a candle\, after our minute of silence we will lay down flowers for the animals that died as a result of speciesism. \nRules: \n-We will not tolerate any form of sexism\, racism\, homophobia\, transphobia etc. at the march.
