World Animal Day on October, 4
Do you know where the World Animal Day comes from?
October 4 is the feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. The Catholic Church depicts him as a man with a great love for animals and the environment. Pets may be brought to some churches that day to be blessed.
The World Animal Day was first celebrated in 1931 at a meeting of ecologists in Florence (Italy).
Today, the World Animal Day is an international action day for animal rights and welfare.
This is NOT how a World Animal Day should be marked.
